It was my Husband's turn for a MeMade sew this time with a raglan style tshirt from Wardrobe by Me*. I love Wardrobe by Me patterns as they produce comfortable stylish patterns which are very well drafted as they are made by a very experienced pattern designer. I hadn't made my Husband anything in a while so it was about time I did really! Being a classic raglan, it lends itself to using more that 1 fabric to achieve the look so it's easy to use panels, large scraps which aren't big enough for entire tees or even custom fabrics with co-ords! I decided to make a new football shirt for him this time but it'll be a pattern I go to time and again for him due to the sleeve options and easy construction. Pattern DescriptionThe Bram* is a layered trimless PDF printable pattern for a relaxed fit raglan tee with a choice of 3 sleeve lengths, curved or straight hem and an optional pocket. It comes in 8 sizes from XXS through to XXXL which is 30-47.5" chest (78-120cm). There are up to 24 pages to print and tape and between 1.15-1.8 metres (1.25-2 yards) of lightweight jersey fabric depending on size and style you wish to make. The pattern is rated Advanced beginner due to needing to sew opposing curves together. My VersionI decided to sew something a little different to the standard tee for this version and instead used a lightweight polyester wicking mesh fabric and turned it into a football shirt! I made the size medium with XL length as he is around 7" taller than the pattern is drafted for! The downside of this fabric is that it is very hard to iron or press without melting it (oops!) It took me around 3 hours to make but I'm certain that would have been quicker if I had not melted a hole in the first piece and needed to recut (double oops!) and I used around 1.5m of fabric in total. Project CostFull price pattern - (£8.03) $10 - I received the pattern for free in return for testing Fabric Cost - £5 ($6.23) Notions (Thread, Zipper, bias binding, hook) - 50p ($0.62) Total Cost - £12.53 ($15.60) Cost to make each additional with similar style and priced fabric - £5.50 ($6.85) The Bram Raglan* pattern is on release sale for $7 (£5.63) only until Midnight 26th January European Time!
